Pourquoi DTC est-il présent sur les différents réseaux sociaux ? Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram et autres… ? Pour la visibilité ! Parce que les gens (vous, moi) ont perdu l’habitude de venir sur les petits sites web comme le mien.
Et c’est normal, ces réseaux ont été conçus pour enfermer leurs utilisateurs. Parfois dès le début (Instagram…), parfois c’est venu avec le temps (Facebook et Twitter qui étaient plutôt ouverts aux débuts…), mais le constat est toujours le même : les utilisateurs sont enfermés, et les créateurs doivent payer pour espérer être vus.
Aujourd’hui on se contente d’aller sur son réseau préféré, d’y passer 1 ou 2h sans s’en rendre compte, et de ne pas en sortir. On a perdu le réflexe d’aller voir nos sites favoris.
Donc forcément, moi, j’avais envie d’amener le contenu directement devant les yeux de tout le monde ! Comme ça, même sans venir sur DTC, vous aviez les nouveautés.
Mais c’est jamais aussi simple. On se prend constamment des bâtons dans les roues. Dès qu’on arrive à faire un truc propre et automatique, ça tient quelques mois puis ils cassent tout. Et avec le temps c’est de pire en pire. Des APIs de + en + limitées, quand elles ne sont pas complètement coupées.
Tout faire à la main ? S’adapter à chaque réseau ? Je l’ai fait. Ça prend énormément de temps, ce n’est pas tenable sur la longueur. Sans même parler des outils de modération propres à chaque réseau. Quand ils existent…

Donc voilà, désolé pour celles et ceux qui se contentaient de suivre DTC sur les réseaux, mais désormais, je ne vais utiliser que ce qui marche BIEN, qui est ouvert et pérenne. Si vous avez la flemme de vous rendre directement sur le site (c’est normal 
), il existe toujours plusieurs moyens de recevoir les nouvelles quotes :
1. S’abonner au flux RSS
2. S’inscrire par mail :
3. S’abonner au site sur le Fediverse (Mastodon, etc.) en ajoutant le compte : @danstonchat.com@danstonchat.com
4. Installer l’appli pour smartphone ! Elle envoie des notifs 
5. Enfin, dans la catégorie « pour l’instant ça marche » vous pouvez :
- Suivre DTC sur Bluesky
- Suivre DTC sur Threads
Mais je ne garantis pas que ça fonctionne à terme.

Should I be calling that site a blog?

Five years of no flying 
5 years ago, I realised that my #academic travels were emitting way too much #greenhouse #gas #GHG (up to 20 t #CO2 / yr) and hence that my #professional activity was not #sustainable. I thus decided to completely ban air #travel (#plane) and travel mainly by #train within #Europe.
5 years later (i.e. now), my professional travels' #carbonfootprint dropped by **a factor 50**, without impacting my #publication records (compared to 2017 - 2019).
