In case you didn't realize it, the economic uncertainty this group of pissants is causing here in the US is hitting hard. As a musician, the places I play regularly are venues that bring me in as added value. I hold the crowds, they buy more food and drink, and everyone is happy. I've been working since January to fill my 2025 calendar (something that hasn't been a problem in the past) and I can't get through to anybody. It's like screaming into a void.
My guess is that venues feel they can no longer afford "added-value" extras. A few have told me they have cut back on music, or cut it totally.
So yeah, as I feared all last year, it's looking like my livelihood is also on the block. I'm furious at red voters, and even more angry with the blue voters who stayed home because they felt this was the time to take a stand or whatever. Y'all shot us in the knees, and I'm not going to forget it.
Anyone looking for an accessible singer/songwriter with a good sense of humor and an uncanny ability to read a crowd?

Are you ever in a bad mood for now reason at all? I think it happens to all of us. When it happens to me, I usually just get quiet and mope around, but when I'm like that is not a good time to accidently bump into me.
My mother made me a Dammit Doll—a simple creation crafted from a couple of pieces of cloth, stuffed and sewn together, with buttons for eyes, yarn for hair, and a ribbon with a bell attached. A 3x5 card is tied to the ribbon, featuring these words:

Ok y’all, in the five stages of grief, I have reached #anger. And I’m angry at a lot of people. Obviously, angry at the fascists, that goes without saying. But the Dems lost the popular vote, and it’s because they insist on pivoting to the right instead of leaning into and building the Left.
There was so much power and energy that could have been harnessed if they had paid attention to the kids in the streets. If they had leaned into stopping genocide, and BLM...if they had spent any of the last eight years building a coalition with the people actually willing to put boots on the streets.
But no, they leaned into Liz fucking Cheney and the rest of the right wing chicken hawks. What will the powers in the Dems take from this? That they need to go further right. I’ll bet money on it.
Leftists need to organize ourselves and abandon the dinosaurs who are all sucking the same corporate teat as the gop.
