#Trump, the oldest man to be inaugurated as president, will visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for a #physical Friday, the first of his new admin.

Don’t expect much. In December 2015, Dr. Harold Bornstein, #Trump's personal physician, wrote a letter saying that he would be the "healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency." Bornstein told CNN in 2018 that the doctor's note he penned had been dictated to him by Trump.

#ElonMusk, the world's richest person, who oversees #Neuralink & spent >$250M to help elect #Trump, has been leading the effort to cut govt workers w/ #DOGE. Thousands have been cut.

The #FDA firings last week included about 20 people in its office of #neurological & #physical #MedicalDevices several of whom worked on Neuralink…. It is not known if all of the fired workers reviewing Neuralink have received the return offer.

@rl_dane I am thanking you for pointing me to the books of that writer who gave them away for a short period at Amazon

A question I have now before doing any research; is there a command available where I can just copy my books that are within my Kindle library, convert them to the standard ebook format so that they can have them forever, because now I don't have a copy of the books Amazon has them

I'm all for audio books, but I don't really listen to them myself.

For me the act of reading is as important, maybe more, than the actual contents of the book. The eye wandering over the letters in my own pace, re-reading certain #words and #sentences, the ability to mark #pages and write notes in the margins: it's unique to the written word and the book as a #physical object.

You can't feel the paper or smell the #ink with an audio book. It's intangible, and ethereal in a way.

So in the format war of blu-ray vs HD-DVD vs #HDVMD (yes you read right there existed a 3rd format, HD-VMD, that just tried to do absurd layer numbers to still use red lasers and be in theory cheaper to make discs and drives for!), the real winner are shitty Streaming Services like #Netflix and the like.

I just don't pirate so I can talk about it!
