Florian<p>Watching a video on the new third-party keyboard support for <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/KompleteKontrol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KompleteKontrol</span></a>. I can already say this is not going to be great for most fully <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/blind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>blind</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/musicians" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>musicians</span></a> mostly because actually browsing through your entire KK library is not supported. You can browse through presets once an instrument is loaded, you can usually modify plugin parameters although that isn't always the case for some Kontakt instruments apparently, you CAN do a search and move through the seaerch resuls though, so provided you can do accessibly do a search that hacks around that issue. The main thing I'm not sure about is, amusingly, if you can toggle <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>accessibility</span></a> support. I'm leaning towards probably not, so you'd need Bobby from down the block to hook up their KK keyboard and turn it on for you but after that I do think it may actually talk if you use a 3rd-party controller :)</p>

This guy on Reddit made some foldable chess sets. Standard and blind accessible versions certified by the International Braille Chess Association ready to print with all pieces included. Pretty neat stuff. It works the same way as one of those wooden chess sets does, with elevated pieces for white and concave for black with peg holes so that the pieces don't move while you're touching them. Here're all of the files. I've got four links because this guy posted them on different sites. I'm including them all so you can choose where you wanna download. <a href="https://makerworld.com/en/models/1259448-chess-voyage#profileId-1283604" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">makerworld.com/en/models/12594</span><span class="invisible">48-chess-voyage#profileId-1283604</span></a><br><a href="https://www.printables.com/model/1234291-chess-voyage" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">printables.com/model/1234291-c</span><span class="invisible">hess-voyage</span></a><br><a href="https://www.makeronline.com/en/model/Chess%20Voyage/164862.html" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">makeronline.com/en/model/Chess</span><span class="invisible">%20Voyage/164862.html</span></a><br><a href="https://than.gs/m/1299440" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">than.gs/m/1299440</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>

Georgiana BrummellI am posting this to both my usual <a href="http://blob.cat" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">blob.cat</a> account and my Friendica one, in the hopes that someone can help me. It seems that the new version of TWBlue isn't working for me at all. Every time I start it, it says that the program quit unexpectedly the last time it was run, and that if the problem persists, I should report it to the TWBlue developers. I tried it on two different computers with the same result. Fortunately, the last version still works perfectly. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what can I do to resolve this issue?<br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/accessibility" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#accessibility</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/blind" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#blind</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/computers" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#computers</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/nvda" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#NVDA</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/technology" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#technology</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/twblue" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#TWBlue</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/windows" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Windows</a>
🇨🇦Samuel Proulx🇨🇦<p><span>Update: The developer has removed the ability to download Guide until the security issues mentioned in the linked thread are fixed. <br><br>Update: this product contains some code flaws that are concerning from a security perspective, beyond just giving control of your computer to an LLM. He's also investigating deeper screen reader interaction, to let AI just do the things we can't do that it's best at. I stand by my thoughts that the project isn't yet ready for prime time. But as someone else in the thread said, I don't think it should be written off entirely as yet another "AI will save us from inaccessibility" hype train. There is, in fact, something here if it gets polished and scoped a bit more. <br><br>Just tried guide for fun. Paweł Masarczyk<p>I have always been satisfied with Framadate and derivatives for quick and accessible event planning when it comes to finding a date that fits everyone. Well, the Austrian government has a tool of its own which is as accessible and it also offers the ability to book appointments, similar to solutions like Calendly or Fantastical. It's called Termino and like all things run by European governments should, it's got its own accessibility statement. Apart from the table where the number of participants voted for a given date choice being tricky to read due to wrong header cells' association, it lives up to the promise of compliance. I have reported that issue and received a response that they will look into it. Some texts, including the email messages, are also in German. I hope they can smooth that one out but otherwise it's there for everyone to use. <a href="https://termino.gv.at/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">termino.gv.at/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Accessibility</span></a> <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Blind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Blind</span></a></p>

When I started the IC_Null channel the idea was to cover topics primarily about #cybersecurity, #hacking, #pentesting etc. from a #blind perspective. Blind as in #screenReader user, that is. But an overarching topic is showing off what jobs are (up to a point) doable for this demographic and where the obstacles are. Today's stream leans that way: we'll be looking at the premier #translation and #localization tool, Trados Studio. Supposedly they have upped their #accessibility as of late. I'll be the judge of that 💀
I'll see you all on #youtube and #twitch just under 1.5 hours from now. https://twitch.tvic_null youtube.com/@blindlyCoding #selfPromo #stream #trados

YouTubeBlindlyCodingProgramming, hacking, gaming, composing music. These are all things a fully blind person using a screen reader can do, given enough technical know-how. On this channel, I show you how it all works. Come stay a while :)

Hello #Blind and #VisuallyImpaired community! 👋
I'm having trouble signing PDF documents with a digital certificate using my #screenreader (NVDA on Windows). I can do it in Adobe Reader but it's quite cumbersome and requires sighted assistance.
Does anyone have a more accessible workflow or software recommendation for signing PDFs with a digital certificate using the keyboard and a screen reader? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Could you please #Boost this so it reaches more people? Thank you in advance! 🙏 #Accessibility #NVDA #PDF #DigitalSignature #AssistiveTechnology @NVAccess

This aligns with the #DEI discussion. If you live long enough, you will become disabled.

Most #disabled people can work. As a #country, the #US (being a hotbed of #capitalism), believes that it's better for disabled folks to be #taxpayers than #tax burdens. This goes along with the idea that you "earn" a living by being employed. There are many programs available to upskill disabled folks, and not all are #government-funded.

That said, many employers are under the misguided impression that disabled people want jobs they are not qualified for. And that hiring a disabled person is an act of charity.

I'm a #blind man. I graduated with honors from a community college. My degree is in #computer #programming. I am also a licensed #insurance agent in my state. And, I spent over six years working as an administrative professional. In previous live, I was a #tax professional, working at a kiosk in a Walmart. I've also done web development, and supervised a technical support team for a dial-up ISP.

I'm currently unemployed. I ran out my state's benefits a few months ago. I've been applying for jobs, and going to job fairs. I've even had a few interviews.
