I've now purchased my third e-book through Bookshop.org and read it using their new app. It works more than well enough for me, even at this early stage of development. Are there some features I wish it had that exists in the Kindle and iOS Book app? Yes. Is it enough for me to not make Bookshop.org my first stop for all my book needs, assuming they distribute it. Absolutely not. I'm glad there is finally an option in this space that isn't Amazon, a mega-bookstore, or a FAANG company. I'm glad that my spending there goes to small bookstores all over. #Bookshop #reading

Klaus Willbrand, who ran an antiquarian bookshop in Cologne, died at the age of 83 in cologne. He became a social media star on TikTok, after he stepped into the public and talked regularly about literature. When listening to his videos, you could notice how passionate he was about books and literature. He was a man of deep knowledge, but also always humble.
He started his internet career after he thought about closing his shop because nobody came any more to buy his books.A young friend recommended him to put some videos on TikTok, where he was talking about his passion, literature. The videos went viral and the literature boxes he sold were regularly sold out.
He was in influencer in a positive and intellectual way.
Now he passed away. Who will carry the torch now?

In these boxes unfolded printed sheets (of a certain publication) were stored. This is what you would have seen, next to small amounts of bound books and small publications, in a typical early modern book shop. So #bookhistory is sometimes a history of boxes too.
