When you are self-replying (i.e. creating a long thread) it is courteous to set the visibility of all self-replies to "Quiet Public"

Otherwise you will fill the local and federated timelines with individual posts that appear in reverse order. They won't make sense to anyone, due to lack of context, and will usually be split up by other posts on the timeline anyway.

So add an indicator to the top-level post that you're creating a thread (like the emoji or a [1/?] sequence counter) then kindly switch to "Quiet Public" visibility.

All this will make it tougher to drive as it passes through.

The strongest is passing through Sawyer County, which will continue through 4:30 p.m.

A Snow Squall Warning is in effect until 4:30 p.m. for most of Sawyer County. A heavy snow shower is reducing visibility under one mile as it passes through this portion of the Northland.

Scattered #snow #showers continue to fall across the region, and that is leading to #winter road conditions and reduced #visibility.

#Lakeeffect snow showers will continue along the #SouthShore through tonight.

The satellite and radar over the Northland at 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, shows scatted snow showers across the region. There are also snow showers not being picked up by the radar scans, especially with lake effect along the South Shore snowbelt region.

Road conditions across the Northland as of early afternoon Wednesday are a mix of good for winter, partially covered, and covered with snow. The worst are in the Iron Range, Rainy River Basin, and interior regions of northwest Wisconsin.

Nearly all counties in the Northland are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. This is due to reduced visibility when a squall-like snow shower passes through a region.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Gogebic, Iron, and Ontonagon counties until 6 a.m. (Central Standard Time) Thursday, December 5, 2024. Snowfall due to lake effect showers will total 5 to 11 inches near Lake Superior, with 4 to 6 inches further inland.
