Olen yrittänyt vähentää Googlen käyttöä hakukoneena, mutta kovasti vaikeaa kun vaihtoehtoiset eivät tunnu yksinkertaisesti toimivan.

En tiedä kuinka paljon tässä on kyse siitä että olen 20 vuoden aikana oppinut muotoilemaan hakusanat tavalla joka tuottaa Googlelta hyviä tuloksia (eli "works best on IE") ja kuinka paljon ettei haku vain toimi, mutta turhauttavaa kun tekee yksinkertaista hakua ja tulosta ei vain synny. Esimerkiksi:

@lauren I have been begging people to leave gmail for years...I have mentioned #protonmail which has served me well, and I use several search engines - #DuckDuckGo, #Mojeeck, #StartPage, #Metager - No #tracking - #privacy even a bit of privacy, is better than none. Folks, please leave the #BigTech ecosystem asap. We are here, so that is a huge step. #facebook, #instagram, #TikTok are just as perilous for everyone, even more now post election. 51% said DuckDuckGo, 12% Startpage, 9% Ecosia and 4% Qwant. Only 6% said Google and 1% Bing. 17% said they preferred another search engine, with many mentioning Kagi and Mojeek.
This is quite different from what the market share out there is, which shows how unique you all are here in the Fediverse. You make your own choices and do not follow everyone else. Be proud.

I'd suggest moving to Kagi, or if you can't afford that Mojeek and then click through to Startpage results when Mojeek doesn't return what you need.
DuckDuckGo is now DuckDuckGone as far as I'm concerned.

のパートナーの検索エンジンが広告主から収益を得るためには、検索結果ページに表示された広告の効果測定のために広告アトリビューションが必要で、#Vivaldi がそれをブロックしてしまうと、検索エンジンとのパートナー関係がそもそも成り立たないということなんだろうな。
#Ecosia とか #StartPage は検索結果にもともと広告が含まれてるのは認識してて、たしかあれはキーワードのみに連動して（個人は追跡していない）表示された広告だったはずだけど、 おそらくあれをクリックした後のページでは、広告アトリビューションが有効になって行動追跡が有効になる（それによって #Ecosia #StartPage の広告効果測定が可能になり、そのパートナー検索エンジン ≒ にも収益が発生する）ということなんだろうな。
（広告を明示的にクリックしたあとだけそうなる、なら個人的には全然問題ないとおもっている）
#DuckDuckGo なんかはそもそも検索結果に広告含まれてなかったような気がするんだけどどうなんだろう。。。

i've heard of #searxng (#searx) and tried to search something in it instead of #startpage but... the results are so bad! it cant even search its owt instance list, also no archwiki and no openwrt wiki! what am i doing wrong? maybe i can somehow configure it to search not only github and forums idk...
hmm looks like i can set languages to All and experiment with different instances
so different instances have different settings: different search engines avaliability, for example. some instances have brave enabled, some doesnt even have this option. searxng.site seems to have lots of available engines, so, if it works for you (it doesnt work on my phone because of DPI bypassing), you should try it, or search for an instance on searx.space for an instance

Edit: ich nutze seit weit über einem Jahrzehnt kein Google mehr. Soweit bin ich mit meinen Suchergebnissen recht zufrieden: #startpage (weniger) und #DuckDuckGo (vermehrt).
