The 21st century broligarchs make the 19th century robber barons of the Gilded Age seem like Buddhist monks.
People need to get off of broligarch platforms. NOW. You feed them just by using their platforms.

A couple days ago, someone was posting via Mastodon about how it sucks that you can't be an influencer or a celebrity on the Fediverse and make money, and that unless ActivityPub changes, it'll only ever be a "toy" or whatever

I briefly engaged with this person, but she was pretty pointless to engage with. Instead, I decided to write this whole entire post breaking down why the #fediverse doesn't need to be, and should never be, a place for influencers to thrive

Ich bin im Institut für #SocialMedia zuständig. Wir sind derzeit bei Mastodon, Bluesky, YouTube und LinkedIn.

Ich fahre meistens mit meinem #Faltrad zur Arbeit, einem #Brompton in der schönen Farbe „Racing Green“. Das hält mich fit – und geht auch schneller als mit der Straßenbahn.

Obwohl ich jeweils eine halbe Stunde unterwegs bin, gibt es keine einzige Ampel auf meiner Strecke! Im Rheinpark sehe ich oft Kanadagänse und Halsbandsittiche.
