I've been swimming! Nicely quiet at the pool this morning, less traffic in my lane, yay! And it must be RDO today, traffic on the roads was lighter too. Fantastic start to the day, I love swimming.

Got to pat some greyhounds who were passing by as I was leaving, bonus!

I’ve hated going to the gym for as long as I can remember. I hate the sensation of physical exertion. I hate getting tired. I hate sharing space with a roomful of frowning, grunting people. I hate getting sweaty. I hate having to shower with someone else’s soap that smells weird.

But I think I’m paying the price for my neglect. My physical health and mental alertness is probably not as good as it could be. I can probably benefit from more regular exercise.

Is anyone else in my situation? What do you do to keep yourself fit and healthy?

Good morning my tooting friends 👋🏼. It’s already about 20c & it should get to 30c with a possible storm.
I’ve had my breakfast & now I’m going to make another attempt at a swim this morning, after the debacle of the last two days. Third time is the charm I hope, I might get rained on a bit later - but hey - I’ll already be wet 🏊🏼‍♀️ 😊.
Something is going on with my cumquat tree, a lot of the little cumquats are dropping off well before they’re ripe. I have no idea why. There’s still plenty growing on the tree, it’s just strange. I need to do some research I think.

! Not sure what the plans for the day are other than receiving groceries. With any luck, today will be better than yesterday and we’ll be able to get out to do a couple things. I really want to get down to the nearby Play It Again Sports and see what the rowing machines and elliptical machines are like and possibly get one or both bought. I really want a captain’s chair as well or something similar to work the abs. Wish us luck!

I saw a physical therapist to start running again. He gave me a program to follow, and as I was "running" today, I was listening to Miike Snow's self titled album. What a blast from the past! The song "Sylvia" instantly transported me back in time: running through Central Park at night, stopping at Belvedere Castle, going up to the tower and looking out, listening to this song.
"When the lights go out, will there be a trace that I loved Sylvia?"
