#FensterFreitag: I usually prefer to show one #window only, but with #Hundertwasser, it's impossible to pick one because almost every window is unique!

This is the "Green Citadel" (#GrüneZitadelle) in #Magdeburg, one of Hundertwasser's last projects. I love this #building, it's a great addition to the city, right next to the cathedral. It houses flats, a hotel, cafés and restaurants, small shops, and a great little theatre. It also features two beautiful courtyards (one with a fountain), and a public toilet that's also all Hundertwasser, including a fish tank. 😂 It looks a bit dreary in winter without the lush greens that are integral to Hundertwasser's design and philosophy. Expect more snaps later in the year to see all its #colourful glory!

A medium shot captures the whimsical and colourful facade of the Hundertwasserhaus (The Green Citadel) in Magdeburg, Germany. The building boasts an irregular and organic design, characteristic of Friedensreich Hundertwasser's architectural style. The primary colours are pink and cream, with vertical stripes of darker, rough-textured material. Windows of various shapes and sizes, many framed with bright blue, are scattered across the facade seemingly at random. The building features multiple levels, with some balconies adorned with colourful, bulbous elements and greenery. A prominent cylindrical tower with numerous dark-framed windows rises from the left side of the structure, contrasting with the more pastel tones of the main building. The roofline is uneven and features decorative elements. At ground level, there are arched doorways and colourful, mosaic-like pillars supporting an overhang.

This is pure nature !
It is rare with a beautiful warm light like this in the winter, so I was in a rush to get my back-pack off and my Camera out with the 35mm Lens, but I was surprised to see that I needed a wider Lens, so I took the 24mm Lens, NOW it was perfect, later I discovered that I had the Camera in APSC mode, so the 24mm was equivalent to the 35mm ! Always try to keep your head clear to avoid mistakes like this !!!

Aurora over the City
14mm in APSC mode, so equivalent to 21mm.
The Aurora borealis was very strong and overshined the early Dawn.
This night you could see the Aurora strait up in the sky and from North to East to South to West and back to North, it was all around, very amazing.
You need to be proper prepared for photographing the Aurora, I was not prepared, a friend of mine called me on the phone and told there was Aurora. So I quickly packed my gear, but I forgot the fast memory card which is very useful for long exposures, I forgot an extra tripod, I forgot a L-bracket and I forgot to check if the cameras was set at full frame setting, so this photo is only in APSC mode equivalent to a 21mm Lens, I forgot at the start not to focus to infinity, you have to focus manual and magnify to check the focus, but I got some good photo images at the end after all. Use aperture as large as possible, I used apertures 1.8 to 3.5, shutter time from 5 to 30 second and ISO from 100 to 320. Wide angle Lenses from about 14mm to 35mm. For this shoot I brought two Cameras and 3 Lenses, 14mm, 21mm and 35mm in a small camera bag
