There I was sleeping in my bed
Vesuvius my home, just resting my head
Suddenly the mountain it did awake
And apparently sleeping was a big mistake
It appears a big cloud of superheated ash
Into my bedroom and through the window did crash
It was an event I did really quite disdain
However, out of it I got a glass brain
LiveScience: Mystery of how man's brain turned to glass after Vesuvius eruption possibly solved
In A.D. 79, a man who died in Mount Vesuvius' eruption near Pompeii had a rare transformation: His brain seemingly turned into glass. Scientists haven’t agreed on the reason, but a team of researchers offers this explanation: The pyroclastic flows must have been immediately preceded by a superheated cloud of ash that first rapidly heated and then rapidly cooled the man's brain as it dissipated.
