Dana aus dem niederländischen Kampen verwandelte sich vor etlichen Jahren in eine Barkentine namens goldene Löwin.

Querformat, Farbe: Das Bild zeigt die "Golden Leeuw", ein großes, dreimastiges Segelschiff beim Auslaufen unter Motor aus einem Hafen. Im Hintergrund sind kleinere Segelboote und eine bewölkte Landschaft zu sehen. Der Blickwinkel ist von einem anderen Schiff aus, dessen Tauwerk im Vordergrund den Blick auf die "Golden Leeuw" teilweise verdeckt.

For #SchiffsSamstag here's the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro back in 2016. Two cruise ships are visiting on this day with Cunard's Queen Victoria getting the dock space beside the city while Royal Princess has to anchor and shuttle its passengers ashore by tender boat.

We're on water in a bay nestled between rocky hills, and we're clearly on a small boat and speeding away due to our low angle and the foaming water of the wake on the bay's otherwise flat surface. The hills to the right are bathed in sunshine showing off the dry, rocky faces of its sides and the olive green covering of foliage dotted all around. The hills to the left are in shadow. It feels early in the day with the sun not having quite cleared the landscape on the left. There are two large cruise ships in the bay. One to the left and further away looks to be docked at shore. It has a dark blue hull and red funnel above its tapering decks of white cabins. Most of the ship is shadowed with only the top aft sections catching any sun. The cruise ship to the right, a little larger and a little closer, is anchored in the bay, completely white, and facing directly at us. The left half is bright, while the right half is shaded as expected.

A Colour Midnight Sun Seascape And Landscape Photo In Landscape Format. In The Foreground Is An Expanse Of Still And Smooth Water Rising Halfway Up The Image. Stretching Across The Lower Left Corner Is The Golden Reflection Of The Sun As It Touches The Out Of Sight Horizon. In The Upper Left Corner Is What Appears To Be A Sky Illuminated By A Setting Sun. Above The Water And Running From Left To Right Are Two Large Hills Or Small Mountains, Devoid Of Any Trees. The First And Closest: Rising From The Left Till It Almost Touches The Top Margin Before Rapidly Falling Back Towards The Shore. A Further Smaller Hill Is In The Top Right Corner. As If The Photo Has Been Folded In Half, The Two Hills Are Reflected Symmetrically In The Water Below. The Only Thing Breaking The Water's Surface Is A Medium Sized Cruise Ship Under Way, Close To The Shore And Moving From Left To Right. The Ship Is All White, Very Sleek, Illuminated And With A Funnel Trailing A Streak Of Grey Smoke.
The Location Is North Of The Lyngen (Fjord) In Norway's Arctic North And The Ship: The Seabourn Ovation (2018)

Wow, that was bracing. It’s freezing here in #Cymru, and #Barry Docks is private land so doesn’t get gritted*, so my #BikeTooter from the train was a walk, but what a walk! The #SchiffSamstag is loading wood chip - #Barrybados seems to have become a hub for collecting scrap wood. I thought that it was for the biomass incinerator, but this week, a ship has arrived. The wood is being shredded and loaded here. Seems laborious.
*(road grit - rock salt to melt ice. It’s a British thing)
