Then, we moved to an exploration of the musical instruments with #MIDI output.

This option seemed to be a great compromise between [relatively] clean sonic data output while keeping the fragile layers of ethnographic context [relatively] intact.

Since the RomChords project focuses primarily on harmonic accompaniments for guitar and accordion, we worked with a #Roland FR-1x #MidiAccordion and a #Jamstik #MidiGuitar.

knob tangent: my #sp555's knob flew off :(

and i havent been able to find one that fits in the shops round here, either (bc #roland / #boss molded a little ring on the chassis around the pots)

might order some of the #djtt #chroma knobs next time i stay in 1 place long enough for the shipment to reach me, i wonder if they'll fit lol

and when i fix all that i'm wondering if i can get anything for the remaining 5 original knobs, lol

@superflippy @futurebird for me one of the main differentiator of hardware synths and software is the human interface. At a minimum, I can adjust two knobs at a time. With sliders, many more. With software with a mouse... one, and not in a satisfying way.

Pictured is a pg1000 programmer for a Roland D50/D550 synth. Digital synth, but much more satisfying with the physical interface.
