what I'm currently trying apparently isn't working

Still on my epic quest to settle on a new #email service. I've tested out both @fastmail and @mailbox_org and it seems to me that, aside from concerns about #privacy and jurisdiction, both work about the same except one works smoother and is prettier (#Fastmail) and the other is slower and less pleasing to the eye (#Mailbox.org) - does this sound about right? In the end, if you use them on something like @thunderbird , are you really going to notice a difference?

Normie noob question alert: is there anywhere that offers a comparison of the following email providers?

I'm trying to divest from Google's ecosystem, so looking for somewhere to set up for the long-term (preferably based in the EU).

Years ago I found a couple of them close together - presumably chatting about how in times gone by they facilitated the majority of all communication…yet now their days were filled more with companionship and charming reminiscences. Hach, damals, als Instanzen noch #Mailboxen hießen und Admins SysOps. Meine #Mailbox "Boomerang" (hier ANSI-Ansichten von ca. 1989) lief auf RemoteAccess unter MS-DOS. Eine analoge Telefonleitung mit 2400bps-Modem. Später föderierte ich auch im #FIDOnet. Dezentrale Infrastruktur FTW.

Spannende Zeiten für einen 13-Jährigen. Bis dann die Festplatte crashte. #NoBackupNoMercy
