The use of AI can have a negative impact on humans. Well who could have seen that coming. Because, you know, why take human wellbeing and humanity into account when it's clear that the development of technology is all about money and wellbeing of the shareholders.

The National Day of Reason is a secular celebration for humanists, atheists, secularists, and freethinkers.
I call it a huge mistake, this human race.
I see humans but not enough humanity (in practice).
It will continue to devolve. 
It did, in Nazi Germany.
It has, in history, and it will again.
Fight this asinine garbage, because it disrupts scientific progress. If, for no other reason, like saving children's lives, across the planet, then fight it for the disruption in our ability to actually learn more. To educate ourselves, and our children.

Nuclear destruction was traumatic for my generation.
AI destruction is what I have to explain to my children, and their children.
I'm sensing a pattern.
And it is the love of money.
Our fight is deeper, and it has to be factual, logical, and fun.
If I confess my #humanism and conviction in the #Beatitudes, and some people interpret that as wicked vices, they are telling you everything you need to know.
I felt loopy today, so I checked my instruments before FAWM begins.They seem OK and almost in tune. Now I can go and wash my hair :)

Lack of education and the conservative attack on any non-parochial education explains a lot. Ignorance and lack of questioning leads to authoritarianism; it is all about power and controlling people's minds by teaching them not to think. Interesting article attached.

I’m not full of energy just at the moment, so this is a half-thought, at best, related to AI and the arts and authorship.
If you think AI can generate art, you misunderstand what art is. Art is absolutely and fundamentally not about the art itself, whether music dance verse fiction painting sculpture architecture etc. It is not about the sounds movements words plots paint marble bricks etc. It is and always has been about human connection from the creator to everyone who experiences it.
I don’t care, and neither should you, if a computer can output a simulacrum of art. It is vacuous and empty, and on its own, completely dead. It is not art.

Do you all ever feel this way? I really like people. I want to talk to them, understand them, laugh with them, cry with them, live with them, be in communion with them... But that means speaking, moderating myself, doing interpersonal math, and really just a lot of needless overhead. Does anyone understand the feeling I'm trying to name?
