It took just over 2 weeks, but I finally finished this poster for my webcomic Terra Incognita! It was a lot of work, but I had so much fun painting this and I'm happy to be able to share it with you all.

Poster for Chapter 2 of the webcomic, Terra Incognita. The artwork is a collage of several images, featuring Alexis Hawke and Rick MacFarlane in their flight suits, Alexis as a child with her family, General Winters and Commander Scott of the UEC, Eve Arlia, Grey O'Shea and Agrippa Varus.

“Forrests End”

The fourth attempt in the background study. Did a little freestyling with some of the techniques I’ve learned so far and am quite happy with the turn out.

I will return! (Hopefully with more ’s and power)

On other news I got some laser printable sticker paper a while back, and apparently this is working out great for one off self-printed stickers

Hindsight should have got white ones instead of transparent ones (the yellow bkg is the backing paper). So this can only stick to light colored objects

Plucky means having determined courage in the face of difficulties.
Puffins are resilient. They must cope with harsh weather conditions, climate change & habitat loss.

I chose to give the Puffin a profession as a Sushi chef, wearing a fancy chef’s hat with intricate patterns, next to taking care of the little puffy pufflings. It takes a long time to be a chef. A puffin’s diet consists of a lot of fresh fish.

It is a place in or near the ocean, the puffin’s element. Water clashes against basalt stones inspired by Iceland, a region where these birds live (next to, e.g., the UK, Norway, Greenland) while caring for their young ones.

In the center, the Plucky Puffin chef rolls the next meal with the sushi mat, nervously looking at the puffling that studies the menu, unsure of what to order.

The chef moves to the left side, checking if the “customers” are well cared for. Tuning the radio if the music frequency isn’t to everybody’s liking. I chose to give the radio a “compass frequency”.

Then the Puffin slides to the front right side, serving a hungry but happy puffling its order. Others are waiting for the last one to order, or they can’t hesitate to enjoy these delicacies.

The table is set: natural wooden bowls, kitchen utensils, rice, wasabi, ginger, fresh fish, a sesame seed shaker, and coral decorations. Everything is as cozy as possible to forget about the harsh world for as long as possible.

In the background, we can see a volcano erupting & thunder striking.

I forgot to say, that extension I was talking about last week? It's already available in Pixelorama (Preferences / Extensions / Explore online / ColorChecker)

I don't get why it works, but this little extension has a huge impact on my process: it makes it feel like when I work physical paints.

Can't thank @variable and @Pixelorama enough.
