Here I used watercolor first and ink later. The hardest part, I think, is when to stop inking. I really had to sit on my hands as not to start cross hatching, and just let the colors speak for themselves.

Throwback to this spread of loose Ghibli studies done with acrylic markers because I still love it to bits~

Still playing with the colors and doing monochromatic studies. This one separates really nicely when painting.
I also did some mixes too, to see how it reacts.

But honestly most fun was to paint this fun "hair" on the bird, which I painted without using white or masking fluid.
And I'm super happy how it turned out. Everything else comes just second.
