I have the feeling a lot of #Linux users don't "get" #manjaro. I'll try to explain, for myself anyway. I'm an advance Linux user, but I'd never call myself a guru. I'm not an IT or CS guy. My main interest is, and always has been, to get away from #windows. I've learned enough to break things, and maybe not end up formatting the drive and reinstalling. It offers just enough customisation to make it my own (in my case, #xfce) Because it's a rolling release, the #software is up-to-date but also lags a week behind #Arch, which is fine by me. And at this point, it works for me, I've learned its quirks, and don't want to hop to something else.

1. As an employee of #SUSE, I need to mention that we actually have one completely European enterprise Linux distribution with over thirty [!] years of experience. We are perfectly ready to serve anybody who wants to switch from any US-centric distro.

2. Even if you don’t want to pay for it, I don’t think #Debian (although SPI is American), or #Ubuntu are exactly slaves to US whims (and I don’t even know what is a domicile of #Arch). And, of course, #openSUSE is gratis as well.

Is it bad that I keep thinking about switching to Arch?

I run Debian Sid with Experimental and build most the packages I use from git or cargo and run the mainline kernel. I'm well versed in how Debian operates and its file system.

How stable is Arch these days? Can it run for years without needed to be wiped?

I was having knee problems at the time and was unable to hike up to the arch. I drove a ways out the 4WD trail beyond the parking area and was able to get this photo using my longest lens. I will also own up to cloning out a few human figures from the photo.
