I love stopping at this place and always have hopes that I'll see a moose munching on vegetation. Not yet, but maybe one year.

You know there are beaver because of those dead, drowned trees. In the foreground (not visible in this image) a few beaver dams are visible.

The foreground is orange and golden marsh grasses and vegetation. Beyond, along the edge of the water are a line of dead trees, mostly fir. Beyond them are a mixed forest that includes colourful deciduous trees in their fall glory, next to some that haven't decided to yet make the change.
