Working from home today. I've been doing a full month of video uploads for the last couple of years during the month of Mach. Traditional polkas from the Nordic and Baltic countries, one new tune per day. It kind of started off as a joke, but here I am, four years later looking for, rehearsing and recording new tunes.

10 done, 21 to go.

I sinom tid is out on all platforms! Organic electronic traditional music in 53-EDO, featuring the neod.1 and a small amount of neod.2.

Someone once told me that Swedish traditional music is fundamentally a solo tradition. That made me think, what if the instrument for which the music is idiomatic wasn't the fiddle, but the neod?

A quick post by way of #Introduction as I am moving here from a different instance. My bio is mostly about my turning work, but I am also interested in music of most genres, particularly #EnglishFolk or #traditionalMusic (I play the button accordion) and #classicalMusic .
All my posts can be found with the hashtag #StevenKPosts
And for those who would like to view a short #documentary about my turning work, here is
"TURNS: a video portrait of woodturner Steven Kennard"

produced by 2022 + 2023 Academy Award Winner Ben Proudfoot of Breakwater Studios.
Enjoy!

If you want to see all of my toots that have a specific hashtag, you can just enter in your browser the url: mastodon.social/@oregano/tagged/tagname and replace the tagname with the specific hashtag (e.g for #music, type mastodon.social/@oregano/tagged/music). I often use the hashtags #learning, #petition, #music, #donate and occasionally the hashtags #news, #engineering, #traditionalmusic, #math, #BookRecommendation. I hope that you liked this tip 🙂.
