It's #Easter week in #Appalachia where we finish #planting the #garden, #baking Hot Cross Buns, and enjoying #Springtime.

Silo got his Easter gift a bit early this year.

#Mondog It was hot today at 85F/29C. We waited again to let the sun calm down a bit and had an outdoor time. Just doing this with him is so therapeutic, and it never gets old. I wish we could send you the strong fragrance of the azaleas.

Brutus is a gentle soul who’s been through a lot, and he’s still learning how to trust the world around him. This shy guy came to us from South Carolina where he was too afraid to walk on a leash, so staff wheeled him around in this little cart to give him a break from the kennels. Brutus has made slow but steady progress since he arrived here and has even started to let his personality peek through! 1/

It has rained all afternoon and is expected to last through the night and more. We were both bored stiff, but his eyes lit up next to me as I ate supper. The photos are chronological: Bored on the living room floor, then expectant in the dining room. Motivation is important.

A storm is on the way, and I don't feel 100% this morning. So, we just went to the closest county park after a grocery run. No frills, just a simple Sunday walk. That's what Sunday is about, sometimes. I added more azaleas to brighten up the mood.

My eyes were a pollen mess driving back home. As soon as I got home, I removed my contact lens, washed my face, eyes, and put on eye drops. Then we could stay a bit outside together. More different variety of azaleas are in bloom. One more day.

A storm went through but thankfully it wasn't severe where I live in GA. I'm happy the heavy rain washed a lot of pollen away (for now). Kengo's colors look good in the wet background.

Our walk in the park was cut short as rain started. But the rain is washing yellow pine pollen off my car, the air, and the ground. The park pond surface was covered with it...
