I wish I could share the scent of the lemon blossoms
Even on the blustery day, it's filling the air

Chickasaw plums are blooming. Took some pics with a loupe. Think this one turned out kinda dreamy.
Prunus angustifolia
Spring emerging in the garden: crocus hiding among daffodil leaves, Siberian iris shoots, lilac buds, and oriental poppy sprouts
Quick Pinguicula weser (Butterwort) repotting. These are easy to care for and make a great starter plant if you are new to carnivorous plants. You can even start with one and they make more (this was originally a single plant). They have very different characteristics depending on time of the year/growing conditions. The dried leaves in the last pic were the large and thin form and sticky so I prefer to work with them when they are compact and dry.

Y'all! I'm so excited about my little bay cutting. I really think it's going to make it. So, in ten years I will be able to harvest my own bay leaves. #gardening
I wish you a happy day!

Planting black dragonwing begonias under an eclipse in 2025. What could possibly go wrong?
Like a watched pot, a watched garden never grows.
Except for rhubarb. That stuff grows like fuck.
The best use is to feed worms.
Some daffodils for the daffodiliacs and daffodiliphiles out there.
Have a great weekend.

These skinny mushrooms are popping up in my tomato seed trays. Does anyone know what they are?

Local group is selling rain barrels and accesories as a fundraiser. Any of yous have experience with rain collection and wanna give me some advice?
I'd like to set them up at my various downspouts and use mobile pumps and hoses to periodically pump out to a larger cluster of storage totes to water my food garden/orchard. We have heavy spring rains, irregular summer rains, and brutal winters here.
OK, wild. Our lettuce/kale seeds in the starter trays are germinating *after two days*. The packets suggest that it would be 7-14 days at least.
