Quick Pinguicula weser (Butterwort) repotting. These are easy to care for and make a great starter plant if you are new to carnivorous plants. You can even start with one and they make more (this was originally a single plant). They have very different characteristics depending on time of the year/growing conditions. The dried leaves in the last pic were the large and thin form and sticky so I prefer to work with them when they are compact and dry.

Caucasian spinach (Hablitzia) uprooted and washed. You can see the tiny shoot buds at the base. That tells you how the plant manages to make a new flush of shoots when you eat the first. At this stage and for the next month or so, depending on location of the plant, they are really delicious spring green. We're entering the time of year when our annual food system is the most poor (hungry gap) and the perennial greens are the most lush. It's a no brainer that we should grow more of those. #Hablitzia #perennialvegetables #gardening #hungrygap

Local group is selling rain barrels and accesories as a fundraiser. Any of yous have experience with rain collection and wanna give me some advice?

I'd like to set them up at my various downspouts and use mobile pumps and hoses to periodically pump out to a larger cluster of storage totes to water my food garden/orchard. We have heavy spring rains, irregular summer rains, and brutal winters here.
