#Merz hat sich mit seiner Anfrage zu NGOs lächerlich gemacht. Seine Parteigenossen von der #EPP haben nun zur Abstimmung im Mai beantragt, den grünen NGOs die europäischen Fördermittel zu streichen. Sollten die 15 Millionen € öffentliche Förderung wegfallen, steht den 1,7 Milliarden €, die Unternehmen jährlich für Lobbying ausgeben, gar nichts mehr gegenüber.

My work for the next days: Sewing this flowers and butterflies (there ist batting underneath each, glued with textile glue) with ladder stitch all around the edges on the bought pillow case (80 x 80 cm). After this it is quilting time. 🧵
(Not everything is my colour palette/pattern, but it's especially requested by my kid. I sew a relatively simple quilt blanket out of big blocks in rainbow colours last year for my child and will also appliqué butterflies and my beloved rainbow-flowers on this.)

Teilausschnitt vom Sofakissen passend zu meiner Decke. Übe noch das Quilten. Bei den Kissen ist die Rückseite nicht wichtig, sieht man ja später nicht. Es ist noch nicht so, wie ich es gern hätte. Dabei streiche ich immer artig von der Mitte heraus.

Hallo Zusammen, ich bin Tanja, 51, süchtig nach Stoff und Wolle. Partner und Hund. Gerade sehr im Nähwahn. Ich habe #EPP und #quilting für mich entdeckt. Seit Oktober 24 in einem lieben Nähkurs und lerne fleißig dazu.

Bisher aktiv bei Insta und sehr angenervt dort. Ich würde mir gern wieder aussuchen, wem und was ich folge. Überlege mich dort zu löschen.

Was suche ich? Austausch mit netten Menschen rund ums Nähen und Stricken. Ideen für neue Projekte finden und eigene Werke zeigen.

First try at DIY-needle minder out of UV Epoxy Resin, 2 magnets, some key charms and a little bit glitter.
It's lightweight enough to use it on embroidery or during the sewing of bigger EPP-projects. I really like it and will do some more in the future.

(I used a form for a pendant, need something without a hole for a string.. tried to close, but obviously failed)

My thanks goes to @ulktante - hadn't she used a bought (and really beautiful!) needle minder during our online meeting of #VersponnenerSalon last month, I wouldn't have known that something so useful exists! 😅😘

Semi transparent oval needle Minder, sitting on a cloth, sewed together out of colourful hexagons. The needle minder has an oval shape and is made out of epoxid resin with 3 golden key charms and violett-blu glitter insinde. A needle with a thread attached lies on top.

It has been a while, but in between other projects (and Life™), I have continued sewing these tiny hexies.

Still no idea what I will create, but it is becoming a bit of a drag ...

So I decided to stop where I am at, and I will use the remaining hexies for other projects, possibly appliqued little flowers on Things®.

I am really happy that this first EPP project has given me the miles and education to pick up smaller EPP work without hesitation.

Due to illness I hadn't enough spoons to do much, but I did a few stitches on my ongoing quilting project in the last days (nearly finished pillow case) and a christmas embroidery I just started a few days before christmas '24. I bought it a ~5 years ago and forgot the embroidery kit.
I also bought a new, small embroidery kit because of all the spring feelz. 😅 (But I don't understand what this printed fleece does, or this ballpoint refill?). Anyway, I will have to learn how to do bouillon embroidery fot this project. Looking forward fot this! 😍

Also: small Doodle I made with a new pen I bought for my kid.

Na een drukke werkweek dit weekend heerlijk in de weer met stofjes: wat zijn ze toch mooi!
Alles weer netjes uitgezocht, glad gestreken en voorzichting aan een nieuw EPP projectje begonnen met wat restjes stof.
Ondertussen neem ik nog steeds weinig "waan van de dag" tot me, met meer filters ingesteld op mijn mastodon server en selectieve nieuwbronnen om te lezen. Ik lees FTM, De Groene, NRC, maar over NRC begin ik te twijfelen vooral of Trouw niet een betere match zou zijn.

De Escher-puzzel ligt op een grote plank even opzij, maar wellicht pak ik die vananvond er weer bij 😃

European Continuity

Today, the French Parliament elected Yaël Braun-Pivet (sitting with the minority Macronist group) as its President. The same person as before the parliamentary elections.

Today, the European Parliament elected Ursula von der Leyen (European People's Party Group, or EPP) as the president of the European Commission. The same person as before the parliamentary elections.

The new Members of the European Parliament had their first session on Tuesday, which renewed the President term of Roberta Metsola #EPP.
