Finished my second ever quilt top! Taking to a friend who will long arm quilt it at some later point.

A finished quilt top made with batik fabric. It has long vertical strips of batik fabric in cream, beige and light shades of blue. Across the middle are smaller stacked horizontal strips in dark blue, navy and brown shades, and then the vertical strips continue below. There is a thin inner border in cream and a wider outer border in brown and tan batik with blue squares at the corners.

My Ukraine quilt top is finished!

These are the smallest Word Play letters I’ve ever done. Somehow, without measuring, I pieced that bottom line so that it was exactly 48” - the same width as the sunflower rows. I think it was meant to be

Scrappy blue and yellow sunflower-themed quilt top displayed in full on a design wall. The center of the quilt consists of 16 wonkily pieced sunflower blocks laid out in 4 rows of 4. Between the third and fourth row there is a section of wonkily pieced letters that reads “put seeds in your pockets so they grow where you fall.” A thin yellow border surrounds this part of the quilt, separating it from a wider final border pieced from blue fabric scraps.

I have framed my recent #quilting inspired studies and will be showing them at the upcoming @peakdistrictartisans #SpringArtFair 12/13 April. They were all supposed to be the same size but unfortunately I picked up two different sizes of Aida fabric for them so the blue one is a bit bigger You live and learn!

"Thursday After Thunder" teableau for 03/27/25

There was a wild storm last night- momentous lightning, ground-shaking thunder, hard rain- that caught houses on fire & blew out windows. Yet today, it's as if nothing at all occurred, just sedate calm all around. Storms be that way.

At my dentist's office: his wife is a #quilter , so he always rotates a wide variety of her #quilts to hang on his walls. They are always beautiful. These were two of them today.
