In case USA provides even more surprises, can Europe run our own root name servers as an alternative to root-servers.net, since .net zone is operated by VeriSign, and .org (hosting root hints) by Public Internet Registry, which are both US entities? 
Correction: root hints are on .net domain too, IANA only links to actual file.

One of my blogs is down because my previous provider seems to not do their job properly.
I wanted to transfer the domain to a new registrar before it expired, requested to have it unlocked for transfer and generate auth password. Got a reply that it was unlocked and was sent the password.
I thought it all went fine until I wanted to go to my blog and found out it was parked - it expired in the meantime and the new provider told me the domain is still locked.
I got a mail from fake porkbun about my domains expiring. I had to double check, but anyway, if you get mail like this, do not click anything there and open the website yourself, just to be safe.
I just saved a client 51% on a slew of domain renewals by transferring everything from GoDaddy to #Porkbun.
It was super easy and fast. 10/10 would transfer again.
