The #Pope:
-in 2016,questioned candidate #Trump's faith, saying "a person who thinks only about building walls...and not of building bridges, is not Christian"

-recently referred to Trump's immigration views as "an ugly thing", and his plans to ramp up deportations as a "disgrace"

-in February, criticised #Vance by implicitly questioning his interpretation of the ordo amoris (order of love), a #Christian concept

Then Vance visits and, within hours, the Pope is dead.

Coincidence?

I am deeply saddened by Pope Francis' passing. Reading his environmental encyclical "Laudato Si'" was a life-changing experience for me. It lays out in clear, uncompromising prose the combined socio-ecological crises we all face. It is a document for everyone - Christian and non-Christian alike. Worth a read if you have never picked it up (link below).

Rest in peace, Papa Francisco 🙏

Continued thread

In 2016, after then-presidential candidate #Trump vowed to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, #PopeFrancis said, “A person who thinks only about building walls wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not #Christian.” In Trump’s second term, Francis positioned the church as a spiritual bulwark against mass #deportations in the #UnitedStates and appeared to chide VP #JDVance — a *conservative Catholic* — for misinterpreting theological concepts to defend the practice.

Marxists and Christians don't have the same mission. Marxism is a purely materialistic ideology that is opposed to all forms of idealism, especially Christianity. The mission of the Marxists is to create a world where things function based on material reality. Christians' mission is to create a world where things function based on the fictitious ideals of their religion. They're not the same. #socialism #communism #capitalism #marxism #anticapitalism #christian #Christianity #religion
