I walked around on campus yesterday, and suddenly heard the krrri-krri-krrri-krrri-krrri sound I last heard last year in summer. That means the kestrels are back, and we hopefully have a new nest in the hole a few meters above my office window.

For the first time in many years… it has taken close to 3 months to start #birdwatching outings for the year
Switching career track to blame… old dog takes a little longer to learn new tricks ;-)
Anyway… the air feels fresh and weather is just right to be spent outside. Would be a perfect day if I get to see a roadrunner today.
Meanwhile here’s something from a few years ago ;-)
Caught a warbling white-eye (if my research is correct) enjoying a cut in a half orange in the tree of somebody's backyard. What a cutie
Caught a calm #gull outside the aquarium yesterday. Had no fucks to give about all the humans. #birds #BirdPhotogaphy
Komischer Buchfink?

The only kind of traffic I like.

Northern Harrier are really impressive air acrobats. Love seeing them maneuver to stop all of a sudden.

Fluffy pinecone!
I very rarely have opportunity to take pictures of nuthatches despite hearing them from the living room quite often.

A good thought. We have to be like this young Red-shouldered Hawk that fought to land and hold on in a strong wind storm. It almost fell several times, but was successful when it bit the crap out of the branch for stability.
Time for all us to start biting.
