Well, I finished The City & The City. A good read! I was surprised and impatient with the Agatha Christie-esque convoluted explanation near the end, but happy that there was still a bit more, and less formulaic, to erap up the book.
It gives me some things to think about.
Where, exactly, do I "live"?

Reading China Mieville's Hugo* award winning "The City & The City" (2009), and it strikes me as a powerful metaphor for 2025: where people occupy the same city but perceive totally different realities, talking past one another - or invisible to one another.

* not classic #scifi, but definitely weird. And well written, so we can understand the weirdness.
It doesn’t have to be “serious” or even well regarded by critics. We just need books that might possibly hold the interest long enough to get through the initial chapter. I’m trying to create a list of good books that teenagers should be reading before they head off to college. There is a decline in literacy and readership amongst the younger people and we would do well to come up with some great books that are hella engaging for growing minds. I would love to put together a social media campaign across the web.
