Trifid Nebula.
Clouds attack last night left barely any red channel subs. green and blue also had clouds blurring the image even more.
Messier 8 or Lagoon Nebula.
Following the same process using QHY minicam 8. This time only 45 mins per R/G/B channel.
Southern Pinwheel Galaxy.
I've used QHY minicam8 mono, captured 1.5 hours each of the red, green, and blue channels. (No Ha, O2 or S2).
Merged using Siril, Gimp just for the final touches.
It's very much bromeliad flower season in #sydney. The way the flower colours pop is hard to convey in a picture. There's gotta be some light bending in these to be so bright (on a grey morning no less).
OMFG #sydney buses are starting to have the technology that was common in European buses in the 1990s. Incredible.
if you're the kind of Australian who's interested in having a physical street atlas for the current year - be warned, UBD Gregory's is shutting down.
Rumor is Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth will get one more edition in August[?], but for everywhere else (seemingly including Melbourne and Tasmania), what's on shelves is probably the final edition.
now please excuse me while i tag spam

Benny Davis: "My fundraising campaign for the 2025 Sydney Marathon"
Walking up the stairs to watch the city from atop the rock, I am now standing under a few trees in which dozens of bats are resting and fighting for space. They are so preoccupied with each other, I might be able to reach out and touch them as they glide past less than a meter away from me
Spontaneously took a trip to cockatoo island to shake out the brain after work, and saw dozens of sailboats criss-cross each other. Four boats drove basically a hashpund pattern with a maximum of 3-5 meters distance, at speed.
Currently 1932 local, and I am watching hundreds or maybe thousands of humongous #bat fly East towards the ocean. It's like a Hitchcock movie, just with bats
One of my colleagues is pondering the lack of a great market to visit in Sydney. It is a bit of a puzzler.
"Even in Australia, you can visit some greats. Melbourne has several of at least the southern hemisphere’s finest: South Melbourne Market is perfection; Prahran Market has great produce and a strong local vibe; while Queen Victoria Market is a genuine tourist attraction that has been there for almost 150 years. Adelaide, too, has its Central Market, which is world-class.
"So … what’s going on with Sydney? Can you call yourself one of the world’s great cities when you don’t have a great market? Where do you tell visitors to Sydney to go when they want to shop for the best fresh produce and artisan goods like a local would, in a beautiful space surrounded by residents picking up a few of their favourite things."
