playing around with #abstractArt #sketching and more digital effery. this time I did some really severe things to the color curves, which not only inverted some of the colors but brought out a lot of weird texture and digital artifacts. Seemed worth showing both before and after all the effing

I’ll admit I effed with this one digitally more than usual, but I’m considering this digitization part of the piece. I mainly just cranked the contrast and black point absurdly high; it’s more of just a big dark blue blob on paper

Last night I attended a cosplay sketch group event. I don’t have all my strength back yet from my recent bout with pneumonia, but I still managed to both pose and sketch. I forgot my iPad, so a participant kindly loaned me a pencil and paper. Here’s a few of my sketches of one of our members as a ballerina. These were very quick poses, of one, to three, to 5 minutes, so very sketchy. #drawing #sketching #Art #cosplay

The color studies have infiltrated my sketchbook. But also everyone is curious and I want to give best info so people can make conscious decisions.

This is the new Schmincke release, which I have mixed feelings about. But the monochromatic study of the kitten was surprisingly satisfying.

Will do the same with the other colors too and a post/video is coming as well.

Spent the morning with my amazing friend Diána Laurent. We sat in a café, talked, laughed, plotted a short comic, and she did character sketches for the MCs I came up with. It was inspiring and wonderful. Seeing an artist bring characters to life will always feel like absolute magic to me. ️

Another revisited landscape sketch with very loose brush work. I was mainly interested in the light here.

I like to start with these small sketches to see if the composition will work and is worth painting as a bigger sketch.
