#SalmanRushdie is great for #MagicalRealism.

Midnight's Children and The Satanic Verses are two of my favourites, brilliant, funny, insightful, clever, witty, with a delight in language.

Or if you want something a little lighter, the books he wrote for his sons are fun, silly, poignant and very clever:

Haroun and the Sea of Stories
Luka and the Fire of Life

"What's the point of telling stories that aren't even true?"
