[5/5] #Fennec: A fork of Firefox for Android that removes all proprietary code from the project and disables Mozilla's Telemetry but leaves connections to all Mozilla services and all features in place to avoid any breakage. It's basically made to bring Firefox to F-Droid since Mozilla's builds include proprietary code that isn't permitted there. I use it because it's actually FOSS, works well and allows me to install most of my add-ons on my phone.

[1/5] If you search a #Firefox fork after the recent #Mozilla dumpster fire I can recommend #Librewolf, #Waterfox, #Mullvad Browser and #Fennec. Keep in mind that all of these are soft forks so if Mozilla dies they will do so as well which makes them at best a temporary solution! Read the follow up posts for a little more info on each of these browsers!
Is there any #Firefox clone or other open source browser that works well on mobile (Android)?
I've replaced Firefox with #LibreWolf on my computers. Now looking for an alternative on mobile.

Was den Eindruck wahrscheinlich noch etwas verstärkt, ist, dass ich Mastodon mobil im Browser (#Fennec) nutze und damit beim öffnen des Browsers meist auf dem Mastodon-Tab lande und nicht auf irgendeiner Nachrichtenseite.
If you're using #ffupdater on Google's #Android #Linux you may have noticed that #Firefox seems to be updated frequently (every few days). #Fennec and #Iceraven do not appear to be updated anywhere near as often (weeks?). Which way is best for keeping Firefox up to date on #AlpineLinux? :)

There is a fork called IronFox. Unfortunately it is not in the official F-Droid repository, and I don't think they have reproducible builds, either :(

Does anyone use #MullBrowser? There is a known vulnerability, says #fdroid, and #fennecbrowser is suggested to be installed instead of it.
