Organized by the People’s Union USA, a nonpartisan, grassroots org, the
boycott quickly picked up steam across SM, with 1000s of users sharing posts with related hashtags. Participants: asked not to spend any
, & if they need to -recommended: shop at a local, small bus +pay in cash.
Spurred by anger about companies rolling back their DEI efforts, in response to govt cuts by #TrumpMusk #DOGE.

How am I doing with today's #economicBoycott? [3/3]
It's not unusual for me to need to stop at Kroger in the early mornings. (I'd rather go to #Aldi, but they only open at 09:00.) I don't go every day.
Despite today's #boycott, Kroger seemed busier than usual for that time of day. I actually had to wait in line at the checkout. I think it's probably #payday for others as well.
Planning the #boycott to fall on a common monthly payday may have been a ***BAD IDEA***™.*** ***

Fortunately, I had 2 large bags of empty 2-liter soft drink plastic bottles to return for 10¢ each. At Kroger, I returned the bottles, then found the right bread & a "good deal" on an single donut à la carte. Using the money earned from the bottle return, ***Kroger*** ***PAID ME 1¢ for the purchase!***

It's my monthly payday & my pantry is getting bare. I didn't know about the #boycott until the afternoon yesterday. By then I'd decided I was done with going out for the day. Luckily I happened to buy a few essentials & gas that morning. However, today we needed bread. The local shop & #Aldi (boycotted?) didn't open until 09:00. Kroger was open, though…

Apparently, this poster about the #economicBoycott is slightly misleading. This #boycott idea wasn't from #AlSharpton. According to #NPR, it's #JohnSchwarz's idea. He announced it on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/reel/DFqgAWopnVS/) on 4 Feb 2025 as an action by #thePeoplesUnionUSA group.

Today is also the final day of #BlackHistoryMonth.
A fine way to combine the two, if I may recommend so, would be to take the money you're not going to spend today and donate it to a Black #MutualAid crowdfunder seeking aid for survival funds.
And, I don't just mean myself, either.

So far what I have found to do to help win is 
—Donated to #PublicCitizen to help pay the legal bills of parties suing to stop trump illegal orders.
—Will support the two boycotts I know about #SHUTDOWN315 and before that the #EconomicBoycott on 2/28.
—I SHOULD (but haven’t as yet) called the politicians who represent me. I’m frankly stunned that they’ve so readily ceded all their power.
