Have at it

... A gift to all Arch users
We have finally published the all-new #XeroLinux multi-DE Install script !
Guide has been updated to reflect the new changes, please make sure to go through it all, and most of only use on production machine once you are confident it works.
Report any issues with it on our Discord nowhere else. Keeping in mind it's WiP...
Grr using guix as a package manager on #Archlinux isn't the most fun, so I added the guix guile modules path to an emacs instance then called emacs in a guix shell. Geiser-guile REPL sees the modules*.scm but the modules don't run ... hmm ... #guix , #guile
#nwg iso 2025.04.20
This was an unbelievable pain in the ass, due to changes in the #archinstall library.
time to do some AI (Arch Install)
@mretka I'm using #sway wm on #archlinux and #Emacs for development
Here is a #Archlinux new where redis will be replaced by valkey because redis changed the licence from BSD one to a RSLAv2 one, now redis will be in the #aur packages and valkey in extra package. https://archlinux.org/news/valkey-to-replace-redis-in-the-extra-repository/ #Linux #FLOSS #FOSS #Software
The usb is flashed and everything is backed up, but I'm scared.
Lend me your strengh, fediverse
What I like about #Archlinux is that it offers a minimal base system with very few userspace assumptions, so it's heavily customizable far as WM/DE and other choices are concerned. It's also fairly simple, and having everything at your fingertips with the AUR is nice.
You could go full #systemcrafters and go guix, sounds like it can be a pain though.
Speaking of systemcrafters, we miss you out on IRC!
Ricing should be illegal if you have ADHD or other issues. So if you "jump in to rabbit holes a lot" Use Doomemacs instead of emacs.. why? because doomemacs is already riced for you but emacs you can rice until it doesn't work anymore and waste 10's , hundreds of hours doing it. Another example #Archlinux vanilla, way too many ways you can customize Arch and never get anything done. Instead of Arch use a variant of Arch like #garuda-linux or manjaro etc.
Arch Linux now has an official WSL image | @Antiz
「 More generally speaking, WSL provides an easy and straightforward way to get access to a full Linux environment, allowing to perform Linux development / testing or simply to try & run a Linux distribution directly from Windows; increasing its discoverability & accessibility 」
Valkey to replace Redis in the [extra] Repository

Galera do Arch Linux, me ajudem com uma dúvida? Obrigado
Eu já pesquisei mas ainda não consegui entender, é o seguinte
Quando vou baixar um pacote, sempre tem dois tipos "pacote" "pacote.bin"
O que é esse tal de BIN?
Am I downloading the #archlinux iso right now? maybe I am...
@archlinux now has an official image for WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) and it is officially (re)distributed by Microsoft (and I'm guilty for it)!
I wrote a sum up blog post:
The reasons to provide such an image, submitting the official proposal, tackling the implementation, how @fedora coincidentally helped () and how Microsoft showed interest in officially adding this image to their official WSL Linux distributions manifest.
What's this
Me using #Hyprland ? What kind of blasphemy has befallen us ? This is just black magic
Hehe yep, your eyes do not deceive you. I am indeed using it. Albeit for testing to see how long I can last on it... So far so good. Looks like a keeper on this laptop.
