Happy 25th Birthday, Aqua!!! Aqua raised the bar for what a Desktop UI should be. Steve Jobs was so giddy in introducing Aqua to the world back in 2000.

We’ve yet to get a UI redesign again of this magnitude. Yosemite removed the magic of Aqua and Big Sur downright killed it.

A few days ago I posted how I've setup my macOS Mail UI and the more I think about it, the more it looks like Mail from Mac OS X 10.3 and earlier. It just needs a drawer.

Freestanding toolbar icons, multi-column tables, top/bottom splitview...
