Today's World Backup Day, so don't forget to backup your world.
Computers can be replaced, but personal files / digital photos cannot. #worldbackupday
restic rocks. Thank you very much @restic

Happy #TransDayOfVisibility and happy #WorldBackupDay.
On #WorldBackupDay recall the year (2011-ish) missing from our 2006–2025 archive of @accordionnoir radio episodes at http://AccordionNoir.org
A change in our radio station’s podcast system meant we saved effort, and thought it was making backup copies for us, but we didn’t check — for a year
So who has copies of the All-#Tuba episode of our #Accordion show, and the rest of that year? Not us
Here’s the lost Tuba-Noir promo — check your backups

@iFixit You are doing a disservice to celebrate #worldbackupday
I declare today #worldrestoreday, a day to restore an old #minecraft world from last year's backup! Make sure restore actually works.
Here's the script for today:
Find your _printed_ restore instructions and key.
With extra computer or fresh VM, install minecraft.
On the VM: go to your backup software and restore the wold.
(No cheating: you can't look for passwords or notes on the main machine!)
Play a bit to see it works!
It's #WorldBackupDay! Today I realized how Backed up I really am! Wowza!
It's #WorldBackupDay! It's much easier to back up your data while you can than try to recover it when you can't.
We hope you take this opportunity to back up your important data, and back up that backup, too!
Today is World Backup day. And well, to many of us #Minecraft worlds, especially our first ones, are special.
They can be a real time capsule for future us. So please, make sure your Minecraft worlds (and not only!) are properly backed up, check if you can recover from the backup, make sure you have multiple copies, including at least one off-site.
Today is #WorldBackupDay!
The perfect time to check if you have a valid and working backup of your #NeoFinder database!
Check out the NeoFinder Users Guide for more details: https://www.cdfinder.de/guide/4/4.5/neofinder_backup.html
And remember: no backup, no pity.
Happy #WorldBackupDay
Your data is one of your most precious assets—are you sure it’s protected? What would happen if you lost it due to accidental deletion, hardware failure, or a cyberattack?
Regular backups are essential to protect yourself and your organisation from data loss and data theft.
Follow this simple 1-2-3 backup rule, as explained by Vladislav Bidikov, Senior System Engineer & cybersecurity expert, in the video below
Make backups! And test that they can be restored .
#WorldBackupDay is now trending across Mastodon
PSA: If you have never done a bare-metal restore from your backups, you do not *have* backups---you have thoughts and prayers. #worldbackupday
Today is #WorldBackupDay. Don’t forget to make a backup and verify your backups too. I use the rsnapshot on my FreeBSD machine https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/howto-install-rsnapshot-filesystem-snapshot-backup-utility-in-freebsd/ but can be installed on Linux too https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/redhat-cetos-linux-remote-backup-snapshot-server/ What do you use to make backups?
World's backup day today. Coincidentally I did check whether I can mount my backups and see the files in them today morning. Today is also my manual backup day.
Go make sure your backups are working, test them, because untested backups are no backups at all. Make sure you have multiple copies, one in off-site location, because physical incidents can happen.
And as a reminder, the most precious for you to backup will always be your very first ever #Minecraft world, even if you don't realize that at the time.
