A Red Kite at the Holkham estate.
After hours of watching them and some marsh harriers from the other side of the reserve we got back to the car to head home. I put my camera bag down, luckily my camera wasn’t in it as I turned around and saw it flying low.
The area around #Leudelange where I run is characterized by forests, bushes, and cultivated landscapes. Only extensive agriculture. #Luxembourg is doing a lot of things right here. Especially now in spring, you see birds of prey on almost every run. Today, a #redKite flew close over me. Majestic! Then there was a #buzzard, which was chased away by a #crow. Pretty brave, considering it was a bit smaller.

The red kite was once threatened with extinction in Wales, but thanks to dedicated conservation efforts, hundreds of specimens are once again circling in the skies over mid and south Wales. The daily feedings at Gigrin Farm are an impressive spectacle.
