Pinguicula (butterworts) and Sarracenia (pitcher plants) are having a spring flowering frenzy. This is Pinguicula moranensis sending up yet another flower stalk.

The flower stalks of carnivorous plants, especially the low rosetted species, are often very long in relation to the size of the rest of the plant. This is thought to enable pollinators to visit the flower without getting caught in the trap leaves. This species is Pinguicula moranensis.
A pot of Drosera capensis along with a flower of a hitchhiking terrestrial bladderwort, probably Utricularia bisquamata. The flower is about a quarter of an inch across.
No doubt I’ll keep taking photos of this heliamphora flower as it develops.
