Hi, my name is Wouter and I am an artist, designer & cartographer specialized in fantasy storytelling and tabletop gaming. The Voyager’s Workshop is where I help tabletop players, creators and publishers tell their stories, with a focus on fantasy maps, illustrations and visual designs.
A lot happens during the development phases of a fantasy map so don’t feel intimidated if things feel vague at the start. It’s an ongoing journey and once it’s complete, the real adventuring will begin, for GMs and players alike!
I’m currently working on the dungeon and location maps for Ghosts of Wrath by @cawoodpublishing . Here’s a look back at some from the previous adventure: The Fall of Rivenhelm.
The Wisconsin cartographer who mapped Tolkien's fantasy world
A recently completed regional map, privately commissioned with great potential for more as far as further exploring this home brew setting goes.

Will be taking a short break here. Planning to do a set of Dungeon Tiles soon!

A recent private commission, not large but a lot of fun! I really enjoy helping GMs bring their campaign settings to life!

Not super happy about how this turned out. I ordered glow-in-the-dark paint, but it turned out to be more of a paste. And I wasn't able to photograph the glowing version with my camera. Oh well...
Wherever and however you play, I wish you the best tabletop adventures and may the dice roll in your favour, or fail you with panache!

A sneak peek at a recent commission, my third one for speculative fiction writer Erin Carrougher‘s third Augland novel, Agendas. I’ll share more images of this great full colour map after the book’s release, next month!

I occasionally ponder doing acontextual maps and just selling them as clip art, essentially, but I suspect that's a _very_ limited market.
I should experiment, maybe, with a single map. If it ever sells enough to cover the hours it took, then and only then do a second one, and so on.
Or make it open-license, PWYW, and just see if folks chip enough small change at it.
I strongly suspect the end result would be a single map, never quite paid for.
