Yes, I'm sure you already know about them and I know they've been there forever and I know they're practically an institution (I think I bought my first futon couch from them in the 80s?)...
but it was just *such* a lovely experience to go in and buy something local and spend the time having a lovely extended conversation with the staff person there (wish I'd gotten his name!)

Yay!! I got extra cucumbers because we didn't need the fancy cheese and I loooove snacking on cucumbers. The first greens of the year with some spinach. Microgreens, rutabaga, potatoes, carrots and cabbage. And I got some dried chilies!!

Multiply this by the *whole world* doing a #BoycottUSA, of which travel to the USA is only one component
...and it all amounts to an enormous tax on American citizens and harm to their economy, for no purpose other than handing tariff revenues to billionaires and other wealthies that frankly don't need the government handout
