@Niall @uint8_t @CAWguy it didn't have any consequences that hurted #VW:
- None of the managers or engineers got jailed
- nor were they forced to actually change stuff
- or even buyback cars at the original price + reimburse customers for the hassle of finding a new car and paying it's price or at least the difference to it.
In fact, #Volkswagen basically refuses to do so and their #SoftwareUpdates don't work and in some juristictions cars got forcibly #deregistered because the type certificate got revoked for fraudulent data by the manufacturer, making it road-illegal...
- Lawsuits of customers are still going on and any #ClassAction would result in VW being able to pay to,stay out of jail!
