Got a picture of my son in the rain yesterday in downtown Ithaca.

NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR APRIL 15, 2025:

A #storm system will bring #showers across the #Northland Sunday night and Monday. It begins as all #rain, but will become a rain/snow mix, then all #snow by Monday night.

#Winds will be strong from the north and northwest, with gusts of 30 to 45 mph. #Temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s.

SNOW SHOWERS FOR SOME:

The Colorado low-pressure system pushing through the #Northland will bring plenty of #precipitation, with #rain transitioning to #snow throughout Monday.

Some spots in the Boundary Waters and the South Shore snowbelt regions will see accumulation.

A futurecast model over the Northland shows the precipitation coming through the region with a Colorado low-pressure system will begin as rain, but will start to transition to a rain/snow to all snow north of Highway 2 by sunrise Monday.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for northern Cook, northern Lake, and northern St. Louis counties Monday, April 14, 2025. With snow showers likely in this region throughout the day, up to 4 inches of accumulation is possible on grassy and lesser traveled roadways.

While a rain/snow mix is possible across the Northland Monday, a transition to all snow showers is looking likely across the region Monday night. The highest snowfall will be along the South Shore snowbelt region.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Gogebic, Iron, and Ontonagon counties for Monday evening through Tuesday morning. 2 to 5 inches of snowfall is possible in this region.

It's a #warm end to the weekend for some of us with peeks of #sunshine.

Others are having to dodge #rain and a stray #thunderstorm as a #storm system passes through the western #GreatLakes region.

More widespread #precipitation and #colder air are coming tonight and Monday.

The satellite and radar over the Northland at 1:35 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, shows a line of showers moving north out of the region across the Canadian Border. A second line of showers and a possible thunderstorm or two are moving from west to east across northwest Wisconsin. The rest of the region is seeing a mix of clear and cloudy skies.

Temperatures in the Northland just after 1:30 p.m. on April 13, 2025, range from 41 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit. The coldest temperatures in the 40s are in locations where rain has been falling since Sunday morning.

When compared to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, temperatures in the Northland are a range of difference from 24 hours ago. That include 14-degrees Fahrenheit colder in Superior, Wisconsin due to the influence of Lake Superior, to 2 to 11 degrees colder for communities near the Canadian border due to persistent cloud and rain showers earlier in the day. The rest of the region is warmer by 1 to 6 degrees.

Wind speeds in the Northland just after 1:30 p.m. on April 13, 2025, range from calm to 12 mph. Wind direction is primarily from the south in northwest Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula, and from the north in northeast Minnesota. A light lake breeze is also being observed next to Lake Superior.

Showers continue Thursday and become all rain as #temperatures warm to the upper 30s and 40s for highs. Winds will diminish and become light.

The #snow and #rain #showers continue to be scattered about the #Northland as we enter the evening hours.

They will continue to persist and remain scattered tonight, before moving south along with the #storm system Thursday.

The radar over the Northland at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, shows mostly snow showers over the northern half of the region, with more scattered rain showers south of Highway 2. There isn't much movement with these precipitation clusters.
