A yellow banksia flower (roughly the size and shape of a full corn cob) washed up on lightly coloured wet sand. There are heaps of banksia trees planted along the nearby coastline (many just above the beach). The sinister looking seedpods often get blown away and wash up on the beach too.

Looking southwards along a sandy beach towards Merewether on a cloudy grey day. Even the water on the sand looks silvery grey. Seagulls are dotted along the shore near the wetter sand. One is just flying in for landing, wings outstretched.

Looking northwards along Merewether Beach towards the Bar Beach headland on a cloudy day. Clouds are grey with bright white edges where the sun is leaking through. Sand looks darker and the water more grey, though it shines silver along the edge of the sand. A gull is flying low against that silver.
