CBCShe was chatting with friends in a Lyft. Then someone texted her what they said | CBC NewsA Toronto woman is raising concerns about her privacy being breached after she received a text message transcript of her conversation with her roommates during a Lyft ride last month.

Maybe I’m just a curmudgeon, but I’ve had two #Lyft drivers in #Tesla who depended very heavily on the self-driving and… I feel like you should have to opt-in to that?

I’m incredibly uncomfortable with gambling my life on #elonmusk tech and can you imagine dying in a Tesla? How embarrassing.

Lyft said it plans to offer driverless vehicles on its platform "as soon as this summer,” and that it sees human drivers transitioning to other work such as fleet management as autonomous rides become more ubiquitous. japantimes.co.jp/business/2025 #business #tech #lyft #selfdriving #jobs

The Japan Times · Lyft to offer driverless ride-hails ‘as soon as this summer’By Natalie Lung

Hi - I need help to get in touch with #lyft - I was returning from the hospital with an infant and the destination address changed. The driver was friendly and offered to take me to the correct destination and I offered to compensate and tip him. I did tip him big and now I see the fare itself changed from $42 to $108. I can’t seem to find any way to contact Lyft on chat or open an issue with them. I feel like I may have been scammed. Could someone suggest?

Had an instance where I was denied an Uber ride because of my white cane. Lyft too! I eventually had to use UZURV to get me home. For those not in the know, UZURV is an on demand ride share specifically designed for Disabled people and my city covers the costs of these rides via the Paratransit partnerships with UZURV. I had booked a ride to go from the library to my home. Each time, on each service, the driver pulled up just enough to see me, see my cane, then pull away. Both apps said my trips were canceled. I logged the incident and complained to both Uber and Lyft. I got ride credits from Lyft, which tells me they are well aware this is happening and have some internal mechanism to deal with things like this, which tells me they aren't doing enough. They are doing enough just to make the problem go away. Radio silence from Uber. Not every state has a Paratransit partnership with UZURV and I don't know about other countries, but I think UZURV is a United States only thing. These tech companies need to be held accountable. This has got to end, and not with just giving a user Lyft credits and told to essentially go away. #Uber #Lyft #RightToRide

#USA #NYC #Uber #Lyft #GigEconomy #RideHailing: "The whole summer was like this for rideshare drivers in New York City. Under a local law, drivers are supposed to be paid even for the time they spend between trips. But Uber and Lyft found a money-saving loophole: Simply prevent them from logging into the apps, erasing some of their working time from the record. Because these so-called lockouts happen without warning, and can last anywhere from several minutes to several hours, drivers have had to work longer to keep their wages up. And in many cases, they can’t.

When Bloomberg first reported on the existence of lockouts, Uber and Lyft said they were locking out drivers only during periods of low demand. But the practice has been more pervasive, widespread and financially damaging for drivers than previously understood, a Bloomberg investigation found. These lockouts occurred almost every hour of every day, according to the data, which included more than 800 drivers, or roughly 1% of registered drivers in the city. They even happened in high-demand areas, leading to some increased fares because there were fewer cars available for hire. By making drivers seem busier on paper, the companies set themselves up to save as much as hundreds of millions of dollars in driver payouts, according to Bloomberg estimates — all while telling the drivers, falsely, that the lockouts were required because of the law."
