Do any users of #GIMP on #Linux know how to install the in-development version of the Resynthesizer plugin, called the "resynthesizer3 branch"?

Despite being a Linux user, I've maybe "cloned, built and installed" two things since 2019...so I need instructions-for-dummies.

I'm just missing a couple of the healing functions from Resynthesizer as it was far better at it than I am doing it manually.

Thanks.

Was würdest Du nehmen?

#OS #Linux #Unix #BSD #GhostBSD #LinuxMint #VoidLinux #Windows11

I've been using Mint exclusively for the last four years or so, and I'm generally completely happy and satisfied and I don't miss Windows at all.

Except for one thing: Windows terminal.

And actually just one part of Windows terminal: being able to give different names to tabs.

I don't want to use a different terminal with AI bullshit or anything, I just want to have different names in tabs.

Anybody?

Do folks have a fave Linux user guide (for just basic "getting the OS to work and keep working", not any other fancy tricks)? My understanding is that Mint is the best distro for end users with no interest in learning tech wizardry or command line shenanigans, but even Mint's user guide isn't really a manual that ordinary people could follow without doing a lot of searching and forum-crawling to make sense of things or figure out how to actually carry out the guide's instructions. I'm not going to be able to convince people to switch from Windows if they have to invest this much time and learn this much new stuff.

@codemonkeymike @matsuzine I have just put #LinuxMint on a 5-ish year old HP that wasn’t running Win10 (which it was designed for). It’s not as snazzy as my MacBook Pro but it’s definitely working great now. My only problem is Steam, which just won’t run my games on in spite of it being a Linux app.

I have a 10-ish year old ASUS I’m going to try next and I found a 25-ish year old Compaq that I won’t try it on because the rubber/silicone? parts of the case are breaking down. 😝

@retrovulcano nunca he entendido está distribución.

This is too bizarre.

HP ProOne G4 400 All-in-one PC:

- Win 11 is 100% stable, even in stress test
- #LinuxMint and #Debian randomly reboot leaving *nothing* in logs or dmesg
- tried 3 different drives, internal and external, 3 clean installs, no difference
- Memtest is fine, board diag passes, drives checked for errors, fine
- Everything I can test passes
- various power management settings in BIOS, no dice
- no issues in Linux other than these random reboots

Any tips? I'm out of ideas
