Hey, it’s me, I’m back for my quarterly political post. #FreePalestineNow

I was reminded today of the illegal killing of George Floyd, of the protests and bullshit dismissals of them. I’m thinking of that moment in context of the current ICE deportations and general government overstep. Of the genocide. I hate that cops get to sleep peacefully at night. I hate that the CEOs of Raytheon and L3Harris can sleep peacefully at night while their weapons murder babies. I hate that these disgusting companies are allowed to operate in our communities and we do fucking nothing about it.

The same way that people stepped up to let the ruling elites know that it’s unacceptable to stand on someone’s neck because of their skin color, we need to be on the fucking streets and making companies think twice before building another weapons factory in our communities.

The Refaat Alareer Camp for forcibly displaced families is one of the projects of the Palestinian-run Sameer Project (one of the other ones is supplying a lot of needed drinking water to the North of Gaza).

ChuffedThe Refaat Alareer Camp - by The Sameer ProjectThe Sameer Project, a grassroots aid organization led by four Palestinians in the diaspora, is proud to announce our first tent encampment project that provides shelter and specialized support to displaced families in Central Gaza. This first encampment will serve some of the most vulnerable families: highrisk perinatal and neonatal females, children with physical or mental disabilities, adults with special needs and mobility issues, war injuries and chronic diseases. With this narrowed criteria, we will be able to serve the most critical population with tailored services and facilities, to enhance their health, safety of gestation and delivery for babies and new mothers, prevent complications and further injury of wounds, as well as care for the children and adults that need special attention. In addition, this takes a burden off the over-stressed hospital system as we also take referrals from medical NGOs to accomaodate the most urgent cases as they await medical evacuations out of Gaza by the World Health Organization.
