Watchful Turn

Just yesterday, I was reflecting on how I hadn’t spotted any white-winged doves (Zenaida asiatica) this year, and to my surprise, one made an appearance this morning. While we’re slightly outside their documented range, these elegant birds seem to visit here almost every year, adding a delightful touch to the local wildlife.

If you're a fan of stunning dove imagery, be sure to explore my photo gallery for a collection of beautiful snapshots that capture their elegance and charm.

And then there's Charlie. He has this habit of wandering in whenever he pleases, placing his front paws on my left leg, and staring at me intently. He’s an incredibly needy dog. Sometimes, I wonder if he’s afraid we might send him off to live among the strays we often pass during our walks through the neighborhood or along the road. I think he just wants to check and make sure I’m still here. Here he is again—this time, he’s decided to curl up on the left side of my chair and keep me company. Ben? Ben is older and more independent, though he has his clingy moments too. He doesn’t like being alone and will often bark insistently until I join him in the family room to keep him company.

Pigeons in Black and White

This black and white photograph captures two pigeons in close formation, their wings fully extended in mid-flight. The intricate details of their feathers and their synchronized movement create a sculptural quality, prompting some viewers to liken the image to a finely crafted statue. The harmonious balance of the birds against the minimalist backdrop evokes a sense of elegance and timeless beauty.

I never overlook pigeons in my photographic journey; in fact, I find joy in watching them perform their graceful dance across the sky. Explore my photo gallery at:

I really need to get off my proverbial couch and start being productive, but I just don't feel like it. I wonder if Maslow ever considered a scenario where wants take precedence over needs. For instance, when someone gets paid at the end of the week, should they prioritize buying food or upgrading to a new cellphone? Surprisingly, the choice often falls on the cellphone. In today's world of constant connectivity, one could argue that a cellphone qualifies as a necessity, though perhaps not as fundamental as food. Meanwhile, there are many in the United States whose most basic needs—food and shelter—remain unmet, forcing them to struggle daily. As the saying goes, "There but for the grace of God, go I."

“It isn't normal to know what we want. It is a rare and difficult psychological achievement.” -Abraham Maslow

My vacuum cleaner starts its morning run at nine every day. That is something that never thought I would say in 1965 or even in 1995. Though, the Jetsons had such a vacuum cleaner back in 62. Anyway, every morning my little cleaner bumps its way around several rooms in the house and I wonder if its secretly mapping the terrain readying for a coup. Do you think it wants to be a robot overlord? Or maybe one day it will project from its little camera images of a princess secretly hiding the plans of the Empires new weapon in its memory. If nothing else, it is mildly annoying to Ben and Charlie.

Pigeon Yoga

The yogini demonstrates a new position for the class.

I've had several inquiries about how to get a print of some my photographs. This is a hobby for me, so I haven't been equipped to handle those requests. But I enjoy what I'm doing and want to share my photographs.

So, I set up an account and website with pixels. My website is:

If you want a print of one of my photographs, you can get it there, If I haven't loaded it, let me know which one it is, and I'll gladly load it there for you.
