last two things that'd be ideal to get working on my laptop: #AffinityPhoto and #Bitwig
the former has no linux support, the latter does, but only x86_64, which i cannot emulate on my laptop (yet)
#FreshSoundFriday: Layering 2 AX73s to get this Cinematic Oceanligh preset from the AX73 Strata Collection by Heat Audio. Dive into the sound Split->Select->Layer !
"The Force"
Next step in my simple look-ahead agent force R&D for Tooll3, written in HLSL as a compute shader.
This one is looking ahead and a bit to the left and right and determines where to go based on where it is brightest.
For that, I feed the resulting rendered frame back into the force.
Generative sound in #Bitwig Studio using #Synthmaster3
How I made the track 'Small Things Popping’.
This is one where I had something finished in 2022 but just never fully dug it, so I share what it sounded like and wrote a bit about how I reworked it.
Includes me playing ukulele, somewhat improbably?

Hey everyone! Today, I’m introducing you to a MIDI controller that, unfortunately, you can’t buy. One of my patrons, @gerotakke built his own high-resolution MIDI controller, and I wanted to showcase it here.
What do you all use to slice up sound #samples on #linux?
I've been using #bitwig and it seems to have reasonable tools for this purpose but a little janky for specifically slicing stuff. (Or maybe it's great I don't have much to compare with!)
*EDIT* Ended up using Audacity and it worked like a charm (even if I could barely read the interface due to no UI scaling options). This video helped a tonne: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtbn5d0L13w
Apparently I have a free license for Bitwig Studio 8-Track to give away. Drop me a DM if you need it.
"Particularity"
There is also a longer highres 4k 60fps version on YouTube:

"Particularity"
After months of work on the installations for our new website https://UrbanFlow.art I finally had some time today to try out new ideas I had during that time.
This is the Tooll3 particle system in "static" mode, where particles are emitted only once and then deformed by forces.

"I'm home"
a song i improvised using Resilient Dreamer's Spring Has Sprung
Lyrics
Each in absolute
I'm reaching for something to hold onto
I'm waiting for someone to hold me
Nothing stays on me long enough to bloom
Nothing stays on me-
I'm home.
If it wasn't for #Ableton #Live, I would be on #Linux right now. Sadly, it's the best #DAW I've ever used, and #BitWig is just not there.
Especially when they make you pay for a year's worth of updates, so they don't give you all the point releases for a major version for free.
I'm sorry, but that's such a shady behaviour. I would rather upgrade my Live every few years at full price than fund those scammers.
How I made the track 'Trellis'. In this one I wrote about self-remixing tracks to get out of habits, polymetric loops, using vocoders to *not* make robot voices, field recordings with contact mics...
Find your way home.
A song I wrote some months ago, back when my name was still Neil.
I enjoyed making it, and I think that some people here haven't heard it yet! so, here it is!
IMG1388NTSC
A song I made some months ago, with it's own bizarre little music video!
CW: No ALT, I genuinely have no idea of how to describe all of this.
