The other thing I found today was a little scary. Who the fuck stores a fox trap in loaded state!?

Luckily it was jammed and didn't trigger when I dragged it out from under some old rugs. I unjammed it and tested it with yet another dodgy hammer. Snap! It still works.

I guess someone felt the foxes had killed enough chickens and it was time to pay in furs

SOLVED: Cooking pot mover.

Another wotsit. This consists of a hand forged, split piece of iron shaped into a half ring about 20cm diameter, with the tips curled outwards. One tip is partially missing or was never there.

What is it for? The wooden handle is broken off and used to be longer and looks blackened, but may just be very dirty.

It's not quite right for holding a crucible, which was my first thought.

Any idea?
