On my way to #Leiden for a #MatthewPassion, then after that straight to #Amersfoort for a soloist job in #Rossini 's #PetiteMesseSolennelle. The conductor couldn't get over how vulgar that latter one is... Which is true. But it's also just really nice music, to sing and to listen to.

My #Brompton is decked out for the journey—food and clothing and sheet music in the front basket, my suit on the back. The suitcase is a really nifty design by #Lat_56. On some days I can get away with just the suitcase, but not today.

Door het ronddraaien van de lantaarn ontstaan er schaduwen van marcherende soldaten en sterachtige explosies op de muren, net als bij een toverlantaarn. De beweging van de schaduwen is betoverend en geeft je een gevoel van duizeligheid. 

Kunstenaar Mona Hatoum: "Het is ontstaan tijdens het werken aan een tentoonstelling in Caïro, waar ik op de markt een lantaarnmaker tegenkwam en met hem onderhandelde om er een te maken met een wat onheilspellender patroon". 

Het werk heet Misbah, wat het Arabische woord is voor lantaarn.
